Results vs. Loras College
Beloit's men's and women's swim teams competed in a pair of dual meets over the weekend, with each team losing to both UW-Oshkosh and Loras College. The weekend was highlighted by a pair of school records set by
Colleen Quinlivan, who won the women's 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions with scores of 198.10 and 198.55, respectively, in Saturday's home competition against Loras.
In Friday's meet at UW-Oshkosh, Beloit posted four first-place finishes, including one relay.
Colin Bolger won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.17, while
Ben Saladar and
Camden Leonard won the 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle with times of 57.82 and 50.70, respectively. Saladar, Bolger, and Leanard also teamed up with
Ethan Casler to win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:44.51. The Buccaneers women's team finished first in three events on that day, including one relay.
Maclaryn Leonard won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:05.57, while
Devin Cuffy-Bethel won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:15.16. Leanord and Cuffy-Bethel were also part of the winning 200 medley relay team, along with
Nora Krystowiak and
Amelia Pullen, which swam a time of 2:07.58.
The Buccaneers women's team followed that up with six first-place finishes against Loras the following day. In addition to Quinlivan's two event victories,
Maclaryn Leonard won both the 50 freestyle (26.21) and 100 freestyle (57.98), while Cuffy-Bethel was victorious in both the 100 butterfly (1:07.93) and 100 breaststroke (1:15.73). The men's team added four first-place finishes on the day, including one relay victory.
Camden Leonard won both the 50 freestyle (22.77) and 100 freetyle (49.51), while Saladar won the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.49, which was nearly five seconds better than the second-fastest time. Saladar also teamed up with Bolger, Leonard, and Castler to win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:43.50.
Beloit will be in action again next weekend when they'll take part in the two-day Wisconsin Private College Championships, which will begin on Friday in Kenosha, Wis.
