DE PERE, WI – The Beloit College Buccaneers displayed remarkable grit and individual brilliance this afternoon in De Pere. Competing against powerhouse programs from St. Norbert College and Lake Forest College, the Buccaneers carved out several podium finishes.
The story of the meet for Beloit was undoubtedly Jeremy Mueller (Loves Park, Ill.). The junior proved to be the class of the field in the freestyle sprints, securing two individual victories for the Buccaneers. In the Men's 200 Yard Freestyle, Mueller touched the wall first with a commanding time of 1:43.90. He followed that performance later in the day by winning the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle in 47.48, finishing nearly two full seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.
Beloit's freshman class also made a significant impact, particularly in the grueling distance events. Jordan Hodges (College Station, TX) delivered a standout performance in the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle, battling his way to a second-place finish with a time of 10:59.82.
On the women's side, sophomore Lydia Nordgren (South Beloit, Ill.) was a model of consistency. Nordgren earned a third-place finish in the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle (2:06.70) and a strong fourth-place finish in the 100 Yard Freestyle (58.62). She also served as the lead-off for the women's 200 Yard Medley Relay, helping that squad secure a third-place podium spot.
The Buccaneers found success across the board in specialty strokes and diving. Lylah Murrah (North Pole, AK) was a force in the breaststroke, taking 3rd place in the Women's 50 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 34.91. She also added a top-five finish in the 100 Yard IM.
On the boards, the Buccaneers were well-represented. Sophomore Elsa Gregory took home 3rd place in the Women's 1 meter Diving with a score of 322.10, while sophomore Jacob Fuller (Beloit, Wis.) mirrored the success on the men's side, placing third with a score of 256.85.
The Buccaneers wrap up the 2025-26 season in two weeks when they head to Grinnell, Iowa to compete at the Midwest Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. Action is set to begin on Thursday, February 19th and will conclude on Sunday, February 22nd.
