Beloit Swim Teams Defeat Knox In Final Home Meet of Kevin Schober's 20-Year Coaching Career

The Buccaneers' men's and women's swim teams each defeated Knox College on Saturday to help celebrate Senior Day and the final home meet of Head Coach Kevin Schober's career, which spanned two decades at Beloit College. Beloit's men defeated Knox by a score of 141-69, while the Buccaneers' women's team won by a score of 150-80.

The Beloit men recorded 12 event wins on the day, including a pair of relays. Camden Leonard led the way with a trio of first-place finishes, winning the 50 freestyle (22.43), 100 freestyle (50.88), and 100 IM (58.43). Colin Bolger added a first-place finish in both the 200 freestyle (2:00.23) and 100 breaststroke (1:07.00), while Ethan Casler won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.23. Ben Saladar added event wins in both the 50 freestyle (25.19) and 100 backstroke (58.37). In the diving competition, Jordan Stewart won both the 1-meter diving (134.70 points) and the 3-meter diving (129.70 points). The team also won a pair of relays, as Saladar, Bolger, and Casler teamed up with Cole Palmore to win the 200 medley with a time of 1:45.32, while Leonard, Stewart, George Carlson, and Nathan Sill teamed up to win the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:54.11, which was 20 seconds better than the next-best time.

Beloit's women also recorded 12 event wins, including a pair of relays. Maclaryn Leonard picked up three event wins on the day, taking first in the 50 backstroke (29.84), 50 freestyle (26.25), and 100 backstroke (1:05.66). Nora Krystowiak added two first-place finishes in the 200 freestyle (2:12.79) and 500 freestyle (5:55.94), while Colleen Quinlivan won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions with scores of 186.10 and 196.85, respectively. Devin Cuffy-Bethel won the 50 butterfly with a time of 30.33, while Amelia Pullen added a first-place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:01.53, which was 18 seconds better than the second-best time. In the relay competition, Krystowiak and Pullen teamed up with Emily Rabas and Lucy Monnig to swim a time of 2:13.59, while the team of Leonard, Monnig, Quinlivan, and Jade Vangeisen won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:04.25.

The Buccaneers will now get ready for the annual Midwest Conference Championships, which will be held February 17-19 at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
