DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Beloit College Swimming and Diving teams traveled to Dubuque, Iowa for their final road duel meet of the season. For the first time in seven tries, the Buccaneer Women defeated the Duhawk Women, 135-92. With the win, the Bucs finish their duel season with an undefeated 6-0 record. On the men's side, the Buccaneers continue to grow behind the leadership of
Jeremy Mueller (Machesney Park, Ill.).
Women:
The Beloit Women combined for eight first place finishes from
Nora Krystowiak (Kenosha, Wis.),
Lylah Murrah (North Pole, AK),
Helena Harrison (Chapel Hill, N.C.), and
Maclaryn Leonard (South Beloit, Ill.), as well as both the 200 medley relay (Krystowiak, Murrah,
Abbey Scott (Oswego, Ill.) and
Amelia Pullen (New Orleans, La.)) and the 200 freestyle relay team (Pullen,
Chelsea Woletz (Milton, Wis.), Scott and Leonard).
Both Krystowiak and Murrah won two events each. Krystowiak won both the 1000 yard freestyle (12:35.48) and the 500 yard freestyle (6:00.56) while Murrah won the 400 IM (5:14.06) and the 100 Breast (1:14.48). Harrison continued her shining season on the boards, winning the 1M dives with a score of 193.25, 100 points better than the second place diver. Leonard rounded out the individual 1st place finishes by winning the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:22.91.
Men:
The men only saw one victory on the day, coming from Mueller. He broke his 9th school record by swimming a 4:16.97 in the 400IM. Mueller now holds nine of Beloit's 14 individual swimming records.
The Buccaneers' will swim at home on February 3rd. At this time the opponent is still to be determined.
