More Records Broken on Final Day of Mid-Season Invite

BELOIT, Wis. - The 2024 Beloit Swimming and Diving Midseason Invite wrapped up this evening. The Buccaneers swam an incredibly successful meet, breaking numerous school records. 

In the women's swimming events, the Buccaneers secured the top spot in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:55.53. Lydia Nordgren (South Beloit, Ill.) secured victories in all four of her races, including a school record in the 50 Free (24.54). Her other races included the 100-yard butterfly (58.42), 100-yard freestyle (54.19), and 200-yard butterfly (2:14.72). Senior Maclaryn Leonard (South Beloit, Ill.), swam a successful 100-yard backstroke, breaking the school record, touching the wall in 1:01.93. In the final women's race of the night, the 400 Freestyle Relay, the Beloit Women rallied in the last leg to take the top spot (3:50.43). 

In the men's swimming events, Jeremy Mueller (Machesney Park, Ill.) secured the first position in all four of his individual events. Mueller swept the freestyle and butterfly events, taking first in the 100-yard butterfly (51.60), 50-yard freestyle (21.43), 100-yard freestyle (46.66), and 200-yard freestyle (1:42.21). He capped off his performance with a blazing 46.73 anchor leg in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The Buccaneers don't return to the pool until after the Thanksgiving holiday. They head to Jacksonville, Ill. on December 7th for a double dual with Illinois College and Millikin University.
