Box Score ST. PAUL, MN.- This afternoon the Beloit College Women's Lacrosse wrapped up their Minnesota road trip with a thrilling overtime win over Hamline University. The Buccaneers (5-3, 0-0 NACC) used a 5-0 run in the third and fourth quarters to defeat the Pipers (5-4). Six of the Bucs' 12 goals came with a man advantage, converting on six of nine man up opportunities.
The Pipers struck first, scoring at the 10:39 mark. A minute later,
Maya DeGeorge (Grand Junction, Colo.) tied the game at one with
Johanna McNair (Fishers, Ind.) assisting on the goal. Hamline took a two goal, 3-1 lead heading into the second quarter. DeGeorge tallied her second goal of the game with 13:58 to go in the first half. By the time McNair scored the third Beloit goal.
Maggie Mudd (St. Charles, Mo.) assisted in helping the Bucs' cut the Piper's lead to two, 3-5. Fully in control, Hamline took a 7-3 lead into the locker room.
After making the necessary changes at the half, Beloit's offense exploded and outscored the Piper's 9-4 over the final 30 minutes. Mudd buried her first goal of the game at the 13:06 mark with McNair assisting. DeGeorge's third goal of the game brought the Bucs' within two, 5-7. Mudd's second goal in nine minutes, and unassisted goal with a man advantage pulled Beloit within one. DeGeorge and McNair wrapped up the scoring in the third quarter with Beloit's 7th and 8th goals. The Buccaneers still trailed 9-8 heading into the fourth.
Continuing her offensive dominance DeGeorge rattled off her fifth goal of the game with 12:16 remaining to tie the game at nine. Not wanting to feel left out,
Cassidy Felix (Bellflower, Calif.) got her name in the box score with the Bucs' tenth and eleventh goals, both on a man advantage. Hamline scored with six and two minutes remaining to send the game into overtime. With 2:13 on the clock in OT, it was once again DeGeorge scoring for the Bucs to get them the 12-11 win in overtime.
Sofia Jeddeloh (Verona, Wis.) earned the win, defending the goal for all 60 minutes, making 14 saves in the process.
The Buccaneers return home to Strong Stadium on Saturday, April 6th to kick off NACC play. They host the Edgewood Eagles at 3 pm.
