Men's Swimming and Diving

Preseason Preview: Swimming and Diving

BELOIT, Wis. - The Midwest Conference league office announced the 2025 Preseason Coaches' Polls for both Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving today.

Grinnell College once again is heavily favored to secure both the men's and women's titles. While Grinnell looks to continue its dynasty, Beloit College is aiming to make significant strides, bolstered by returning talent and promising newcomers.

On the men's side, Grinnell College garnered 64 points and eight of nine first-place votes, positioning them for a remarkable 10th straight league title. St. Norbert College (53 points) and Lake Forest College (50 points) rounded out the top three. Beloit College placed 8th in the poll with 14 points, while finishing 7th in the 2024-25 MWC season.

For the women's teams, Grinnell also took the top spot with 64 points and eight first-place votes, seeking their fifth consecutive championship crown. St. Norbert College (55 points) and Lake Forest College (52 points) followed. Beloit College secured 5th place in the women's poll with 33 points.

Despite the challenging competitive landscape, Beloit Head Coach Dan Vale, entering his second season, is optimistic about the Buccaneers' prospects. "We are eager to see how our small but strong team is able to compete in our Conference," said Coach Vale. "On the Women's side, we are excited to see how Lydia Nordgren (South Beloit, Ill.) builds on her Newcomer of the Year season last year, and to see Elsa Gregory take the lead as our top diver after two Top-3 Conference finishes last year. On the Men's side, Jeremy Mueller (Loves Park, Ill.) should continue his dominance and we hope to see him reach new heights. We also are excited for freshman Jordan Hodges to fill some gaps from last year's team and compete near the top of our Conference in a variety of events."

The 2025-26 season kicks off for the Buccaneers on October 11th when they host Ripon and Lake Forest in a double dual. The season will culminate at the 2026 MWC Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted by Grinnell College from Thursday, February 19, through Sunday, February 22.
