ROCK ISLAND, IL. - The Beloit College cross country teams were in action at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational held at the Saukie Golf Course, with both men's and women's squads putting forth strong efforts.
On the men's side, Dylan Malmgren (Loves Park, Ill.) led the charge for the Buccaneers, securing a 25th-place finish with an impressive time of 27:51.5. He was followed by Leo Ramos, who placed 78th with a time of 29:34.6. Cooper Rathmann (Milwaukee, Wis.) crossed the finish line in 103rd position at 30:35.1, while Sawyer Wall (Chicago, Ill.) finished 150th at 34:01.9. Rounding out the men's contingent were Max Muszynski (Milwaukee, Wis.) (159th, 36:14.5) and Conall Witherite (Round Lake, IL) (163rd, 38:10.6).
The women's team saw an outstanding performance from Simone De Montigny (Neenah, Wis.), who earned a top-20 finish, coming in 18th with a time of 24:56.1. Addie Bogda also had a strong showing, finishing 65th at 27:57.2. Allie Roberts secured the 81st spot with a time of 29:11.6, and Sofia Jackson placed 94th at 30:42.3. Close behind were Meghan Koning (Mt. Prospect, Ill.)  (97th, 33:00.5) and Carly Carpenter (Sycamore, Ill.) (98th, 33:08.0).
The Buccaneers continue to build momentum as the cross country season progresses. They will run next at the Wisconsin Private Championships hosted by Concordia Wisconsin in Mequon, Wis. That meet will take place on October 18th.
