BELOIT, Wis. – Beloit College Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Myles Bach as the new Head Coach of the Men's and Women's Cross Country programs. Bach, a decorated student-athlete and a rising star in the coaching ranks, brings a proven record of elevating programs and a deep commitment to student-athlete development.
"We are extremely pleased to have Myles Bach join our staff to lead our Cross Country programs," expressed Beloit College Director of Athletics, Dave DeGeorge. "Myles is energetic and confident. He will be a terrific coach, mentor, and recruiter."
Bach comes to Beloit from Washburn University, where he served as an Assistant Cross Country and Track Coach. In his most recent season, he was instrumental in guiding the men's cross country team to unprecedented success. The team achieved a 24th-place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championships, the best finish in program history, and secured a 4th-place finish at the Central Region Championships, tying the program's best-ever regional performance.
"I am excited to begin working at Beloit. I think the school's community and close-knit environment is a perfect place to build a program," said Bach. "I hope to bring a championship mindset, from my experiences as an athlete and coach, to help our student-athletes be successful here at Beloit."
Bach's coaching philosophy is built on a strong academic foundation. He is completing his Master of Arts in Education in Kinesiology and Sport Sciences with a focus on Coaching from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from UNK and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Gonzaga University. This unique blend of sport science and psychology equips him with the tools to develop runners both physically and mentally.
Before his time at Washburn, Bach coached multiple state qualifiers at the high school level at Center Point-Urbana High School in Iowa, demonstrating his ability to identify and nurture talent.
As a collegiate athlete himself, Bach understands the dedication required to excel. He was a decorated runner at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, earning honors as a Spring 2022 NCAA Division II Academic All-American. His athletic resume includes qualifying for the NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field National Meet in the 10,000 meters, being a three-time USTFCCCA All-Central Region performer in cross country, and being a member of two teams that qualified for the NCAA DII XC National Championships. This firsthand experience provides him with invaluable credibility and insight into the life of a student-athlete.
Bach will begin his duties starting July 1st, focusing on recruiting and preparing the Buccaneers for the upcoming fall season.
