ROCKFORD, IL - The Beloit College Cross Country teams competed this evening at the Rock River Invite, with both the men's and women's teams securing impressive 2nd place finishes.Â
The men's team had an outstanding day, with several runners placing high in the individual standings. Dylan Malmgren (Loves Park, Ill.) led the charge, finishing an excellent 2nd overall with a time of 17:16.4. Close behind, Leo Ramos secured 5th place with a time of 17:56.3, followed by Cooper Rathmann (Milwaukee, Wis.) in 6th at 18:06.0. Sawyer Wall (Chicago, Ill.)Â also contributed to the team's success, finishing 11th with a time of 20:43.8. The strong collective effort from these athletes propelled the men's team to their well-deserved 2nd place overall.
The women's team also had a fantastic showing, securing 2nd place as a team. Simone De Montigny (Neenah, Wis.) was a standout performer, earning an impressive 2nd place individually with a time of 20:44.7. Addie Bogda followed with a strong 7th place finish at 22:12.8, and Allie Roberts rounded out the top 10 for the Buccaneers, finishing 10th with a time of 23:00.4. The team's depth was evident with several other runners contributing significantly: Sofia Jackson placed 15th (24:11.5), Ana Metz 17th (25:51.9), Ellie Nelson 18th (25:58.2), Carly Carpenter (Sycamore, Ill.) 19th (25:58.7), and Meghan Koning (Mt. Prospect, Ill.) 20th (25:59.3).
The Bucs run again on September 20th at the Gil Dodds Invitational in Wheaton, Illinois.Â
