Swim and Dive Secure First Wins of 2026 Over Monmouth

BELOIT, WI – The Beloit College swimming and diving teams put on a dominant display this afternoon, hosting Monmouth College for a high-energy dual meet. The Buccaneers showcased their depth and top-tier talent, securing numerous first-place finishes across both the men's and women's programs.

From the jump, Beloit established a strong presence in the water, led by several multi-event winners and a complete sweep of the diving boards.

The Buccaneers were paced by standout performances from Jeremy Mueller (Loves Park, Ill.) and Lydia Nordgren (South Beloit, Ill.), who combined for five individual event victories.

Mueller was untouchable on the men's side, sweeping all three of his individual entries. He showcased his versatility by winning the 200-yard Freestyle (1:47.05), the 200-yard IM (2:04.92), and the 100-yard Backstroke (52.84).

Nordgren mirrored that excellence for the Beloit women. She claimed gold in the 50-yard Freestyle with a blistering time of 25.94 and later took the top spot in the 100-yard Backstroke (1:03.13). Nordgren also played a pivotal role in the Women's 200-yard Medley Relay, leading off for a team—including Norah Owens (Colorado Springs, Colo.)Lylah Murrah (North Pole, AK), and Amelia Pullen (New Orleans, La.)—that secured a first-place finish with a time of 2:00.98.

Beloit's distance specialist, Liam Murphy (Minneapolis, Minn.) proved his endurance by sweeping the longest events of the day. Murphy captured first place in the 1000-yard Freestyle (12:13.20) and returned later in the meet to win the 500-yard Freestyle in 5:57.68.

In the sprint lanes, Pullen was a force to be reckoned with. In addition to her relay success, Pullen won the 100-yard Freestyle (59.82) and earned a hard-fought second-place finish in the 50-yard Freestyle.

The Beloit diving contingent was perfect on the day, leaving no room for the opposition on the leaderboards. Elsa Gregory dominated the women's side, taking first place in both the 1-meter diving (196.00) and the 3-meter diving (199.90) events.

On the men's side, Jacob Fuller (Beloit, Wis.) matched that feat, securing the top spot in the 1-meter (181.00) and 3-meter (140.90) competitions, ensuring a total sweep of the diving points for the Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers have a quick turnaround and will head to Dubuque, Iowa for a dual with Loras College. Action from San Jose Pool is set for 1 pm.
