Sam Holy Signs Professional Contract with FPHL Binghamton Black Bears

BELOIT, Wis. - Earlier this month, Beloit College Men's Hockey Senior, Sam Holy signed a professional contract with the Binghamton Black Bears.  The Black Bears are a member of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL), a single A minor professional hockey league. 

Holy signed his contract ahead of the teams two game series against the Watertown Wolves. The Black Bears took both games, 10-4 and 9-4. Holy collected his first professional point in the second game, assisting on Binghamton's first goal. 

Holy joins Binghamton after concluding his collegiate career on February 14th. Prior to coming to Beloit for his senior season, he spent his first three years at Northland College in Ashland, WI. In his junior year at Northland College, Holy served as team captain and blocked 41 shots.  Over the last four seasons, Holy has played in 93 games.  He stands at 6'4" and weighs-in at 215 pounds adding another left-handed shot to the Black Bears blue line group. 

The 24-year-old is a native of Chicago, IL, and played three seasons of AAA before playing three years in juniors.  Holy becomes the first collegiate-signee of the season for the Black Bears, which will not count towards the 20-man active roster.
