Will Palmer was active offensively firing 10 shots on goal and scoring four times to help lift the Buccaneers over Carroll 9-8 on the road Wednesday night.
The Pioneers struck first less than three minutes into the game but
Keeler Tardiff responded five minutes later to make it 1-1. With under five to go in the first quarter
Olaf Sorenson found Palmer for his first goal of the game to give Beloit its first lead 2-1. Carroll tallied the equalizer with 3:40 on the clock but two minutes later the Bucs reclaimed the lead on Palmer's second goal of the game. A late penalty on the Pioneers led to a man-advantage goal scored by
Olaf Sorenson with just eight seconds left in the first to make it 4-2 Beloit.
Carroll narrowed the gap with a score just eight seconds into the second quarter before Tardiff bested the Pioneer keeper on a man-advantage opportunity. His goal off an assist from
Adrian Camacho pushed the lead back to two, 5-3. A pair of Carroll goals knotted the game 5-5 before Palmer struck again with 5:07 left before the half. The Pioneers rounded out the scoring in the quarter to send the teams into the intermission tied 6-6.
Palmer added another tally in the goal column with an unassisted score with 5:22 left in the third.
Quinn Olsson joined the scoring off a Tardiff assist to make it 8-6 in the third as the Bucs' defense blanked the Pioneers in the period.
Paul Balingit found the back of the net off a Sorenson pass nearly four minutes into the final quarter of regulation for the eventual game winner. Carroll was able to score the final two goals of the contest but the Buccaneer defense held for the 9-8 win.
Palmer fired 17 shots in the contest including 10 on goal and registered a season high four goals to pace the Beloit offense. Tardiff and
Zachary Sochacki each caused three turnovers while Tardiff led Beloit with nine groundballs.
Eric Seo made 13 saves in the complete game in net for the win.
