The Beloit College women's lacrosse team fell to Augustana College 16-4 on a cold day at Thorson-Lucken Stadium in Rock Island, Illinois.
The Vikings opened the scoring just over two minutes into the game but
Johanna McNair had the quick answer. Just over a minute later, McNair bested the Augie keeper on an unassisted score for the equalizer. AC would add three more goals to head into the second with a 4-1 lead.
The Vikings posted a huge second quarter with eight goals while the Buccaneer offense was held off the board.
Chloe Hain and
Katrina Sanchez entered the scoring column in the third with
Paige Airaudi registering an assist. McNair rounded out the scoring in the game with another unassisted goal with 10:51 left in the contest. Beloit's defense blanked the Vikings in the final quarter of play.
Sofia Jeddeloh suffered the loss in net after making 15 saves.
