T'Aira Boyance Qualifies For NCAA Division-III Outdoor Nationals In The 400 Meters

Beloit College Senior T'Aira Boyance has qualified for next week's NCAA Division-III Outdoor National Championships in the 400 meters, which will be hosted by St. John Fisher University. The meet will take place at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex in Pittsford, N.Y. from May 25-27.

In order to become a national qualifier, an individual must finish among the top 22 times in all of Division-III in their event. Boyance currently holds the 19th-fastest time in the 400 meters with a time of 56.60, which is a school record in that event, and made the cut by 0.07 seconds. The top seeded individual in that event recorded a time of 54.18.

A native of Houston, Texas, Boyance will compete in the prelims of the 400 on Friday at 5:45 p.m. The finals of that event is scheduled for Saturday at 2:20 p.m.

This is a fitting end to Boyance's stellar season, which saw her earn Midwest Conference Women's Track Performer of the Year honors.
