APPLETON, Wis. - The Beloit College Cross Country teams traveled to Appleton, Wisconsin this morning to run in the Gene Davis Invite, hosted by MWC foe Lawrence University. The Buccaneers saw a plethora of personal bests and every runner at least saw a season best. The Invite marked the second biggest field the Bucs have run against this season.
Dylan Malmgren (Loves Park, Ill.) continued his dominance for the Buccaneers, crossing the line at 26:42.5 to earn a place in the top fifty at 32nd. Following just under three minutes later was
Kembre Daniel, breaking thirty minutes with a 29:25.0.
Sawyer Wall (Chicago, Ill.) was under a minute later at 30:04.2 and pacing him was
Cooper Rathman (Milwaukee, Wis.) at 30:15.3. The fourth Buccaneer to cross was
Aiden Cortinas (Sycamore, Ill.) at 31:12.2.
Cal Fox (Orfordville, Wis. ) and
Max Muszynski (Milwaukee, Wis.) finished under a minute apart at 32:30.7 and 32:52.6. Closing out the race for Beloit was
Owen Eichfeld (Winnetka, Ill.) (35:17.4),
Jake Fein (Florence, Mass) (36:32.3) and
Kai Colbert (Castro Valley, Calif. ) (37:13.1).
In the Women's 6k, two Buccaneers earned spots in the top fifty.
Simone De Montigny (Neenah, Wis.) continued her track as the first Buc to cross, finishing in 24:31.9.
Sophia Miller 's(Salem, Ore.) 25:43.0 placed them in 47th. Senior
Carter Browne (Hornell, N.Y.) ran a 26:07.6 and
Emeline Russell (Aberdeen, Wash.) crossed at 29:30.6, marking the final of four Bucs to clock in in under thirty minutes. Just outside the thirty minute mark were
Carly Carpenter (Sycamore, Ill.) (30:22.8) and
Jaeonie Echols (Kansas City, MO) (32:30.8).
The Buccaneers race in Mequon, Wisconsin next weekend when they head to Concordia-Wisconsin for the Wisconsin Private Championships.
