DIXON, Ill. - This morning the Beloit College Cross Country teams raced at the Skyhawk Invite hosted by Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Ill. The Buccaneers were led by
Simone De Montigny (Neenah, Wis.) (20:52) and
Dylan Malmgren (Loves Park, Ill.) (32:23), placing fourth and seventh in their respective races. The women ran their usual 5K while the mens' course measured slightly longer than their normal 8K.
Following closely behind De Montginy was
Sophia Miller (Salem, Ore.). Miller finished tenth and clocked a time of 22:36. Three places behind Miller was
Carter Browne (Hornell, N.Y.). Browne raced her way to a 22:51 and a top-15 finish. Three more Buccaneers finished in the top thirty.
Emeline Russell (Aberdeen, Wash.) in 24th at 26:17,
Carly Carpenter (Sycamore, Ill.) at 29th with a time of 27:31 and
Meghan Koning (Mt. Prospect, Ill.) in 30th, toeing the line in 27:32. Making her season debut was
Jaeonie Echols (Kansas City, MO), clocking in at 28:38 and closing out the Beloit runners.
The closest Buc runner to Malmgren was
Aiden Cortinas (Sycamore, Ill.). Cortinas ran a 33:17.57, enough for 14th place. A trio of Bucs followed just behind, placing 16th, 17th and 18th.
Kembre Daniel and
Cooper Rathman (Milwaukee, Wis.) finished four seconds apart at 33:31.00 and 33.35.00.
Sawyer Wall (Chicago, Ill.) crossed at 33:57.00. The final three runners were
Cal Fox (Orfordville, Wis.), Max Muszynski (Milwaukee, Wis.) and
Jake Fein (Florence, Mass).
