BELOIT, Wis. - Earlier this afternoon, the Midwest Conference released its 2025 Men's Soccer coaches poll, predicting Lake Forest College to win its second consecutive MWC title. They secured seven of nine first-place votes. Illinois College is projected to finish second, while Knox College and Ripon College are expected to round out the top four and make the MWC Tournament.
As for the Buccaneers, Head Coach Patrick Sanchez (3rd Season) shares his optimism for the upcoming season, stating, "We are really excited to show the progress we've made since taking over the program in 2023. David Staats (Meridian, ID) is going to be excellent in goal for us. It'll take some games, but expect to see some production in the attack from Rafael Cervantes Jr. (Dallas, TX) and Santi Gomez (Marietta, GA), as well as newcomer Eziah Hernandez. We're excited to kick off this fall season!"
The 2025 season begins on Friday, August 29, with league play commencing on Saturday, September 27. The MWC Men's Soccer Tournament, featuring the top four teams, is scheduled for November 8-9.
