BELOIT, Wis. - The Midwest Conference released its 2025 Women's Soccer preseason poll yesterday, with Lake Forest College predicted to win the title in a tightly contested race. The Foresters secured the top spot with five first-place votes and 61 points, just ahead of Lawrence University, which received 60 points. Grinnell College and Illinois College are also projected to make the MWC Tournament. The 2025 season opens on August 29, and the MWC Tournament is scheduled for November 7-8.
Beloit College, tied for sixth in the poll with 28 points, finished the 2024 season with a 5-11-3 overall record and a 4-3-1 MWC record. Head Coach John Baillie expressed his excitement for the team, stating, "We are thrilled by the energy and potential this group brings into the season. Despite having a limited number of upperclassmen, our young players have shown remarkable maturity, a robust work ethic, and a fierce determination to compete. Senior Meah Mora (Caldwell, ID) and Sophomore Zyana Turcios (Elmwood Park, Ill.) are leading by example on the field, steering us towards the continuation of the success we've enjoyed in recent years."Â
The young Buccaneers will look to freshman forwards Sarah Connors and Grace Christos for major production as well.Â
Beloit kicks off the 2025 season on the road at Kalamazoo this weekend and MWC play begins on September 30th.Â
