BELOIT, Wis. - Beloit College announces Kelly Millins as the new interim Head Coach for Women's Ice Hockey, marking an exciting new chapter in the college's athletic history. The appointment comes as the program prepares to launch its first season at the state of the art Woodman's Center.
With an impressive background in collegiate and competitive hockey, Millins brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Beloit College. Since earning a master's degree in general management and bachelor's degree in biology from Elmira College, Millins demonstrated remarkable success in collegiate athletics. Most recently, Kelly coached women's ice hockey at Wilkes University, where she mentored a 34-member team to the NCAA first round national championship.
"I'm so excited to lead the first women's ice hockey program at Beloit, and the first collegiate ice hockey program at the Woodman's center," Kelly said. "I believe in this college, in this program, and in our student-athletes."
President Eric Boynton emphasized Beloit College's excitement for the new ice hockey program. "This college is built on relationships, and we work with each student-athlete to make their education at Beloit work for them," said Boynton. "We are firm in our support for the program and the players at Beloit."Â
Beloit College looks forward to the exceptional student-athletes and coaches continuing the story of Northland ice hockey at Beloit. The campus community eagerly awaits the first face-off to watch how Millin's dynamic vision unfolds. Millin will work closely with Head Men's Hockey Coach Shane Buckley. Both Men's and Women's Ice Hockey teams will represent Beloit College with spirit and excellence that honors its past and builds a competitive future.
