Hall of Honor
Simply put, Alanna Moss was one of the best female Buccaneer Track & Field athletes ever. A four-year letterwinner, Moss was a three-time Midwest Conference champion and a four-time All-MWC performer, winning the High Jump title during the indoor season as a freshman and senior and adding the Triple Jump crown as a junior during the outdoor season. A team captain as a senior, she still holds the Beloit Women’s indoor High Jump record at 5’4, set in 1998, and held the 200m Hurdle mark at graduation. To underline her importance to the team during her career, she was named the team MVP for the indoor season three times and the outdoor MVP in all four of her seasons. After graduation she worked for the Wisconsin State Historical Society as a field archaeologist for several years. In 2002 she moved to New York state and began volunteering at a local public library, inspiring her to go back to school. She earned her Masters in Library Information Science from SUNY Albany in 2008. She has been the Primary School Librarian in the Ichabod Crane School District (Kinderhook, NY) since then, also teaching literacy and library skills to students in grades k-3 while helping coach the middle school/high school track and field teams. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Kinderhook Runners Club.
