Hall of Honor
A star on Beloit Catholic High School’s football and basketball teams from 1978-1981 who was named All-Conference and All-Area for Beloit and Rockford his senior year, John Kaminski continued his stellar performances as defensive lineman on the Beloit College football squads of the early to mid-eighties. He was a starter in all 37 games played during his four years at Beloit and was named player of the week eight times. Named the team’s defensive player of the year in both 1984 and 1985 and was named to the Pizza Hut Division III All-American team his senior season. He still holds a number of College records, including a tie for most sacks in a game and a tie for second in career number of sacks with 29. In 1988 he had a brief career with the short-lived National Triple A Professional Football League team, the Rockford Panthers. A social studies teacher at Beloit Memorial High School, he is also head coach of the sophomore basketball team there.
