Hall of Honor
Katelynn Rynders Ambrosini spent her four years on the Beloit College campus constructing a record-setting career on both the volleyball court and the softball diamond. Her effort, determination, positive attitude, leadership, and team-first attitude led the West Dundee, Illinois native to four Midwest Conference All-Conference selections, three times in volleyball and once for softball. She was a part of the 2006 Buccaneer Volleyball team that won the MWC championship, defeating Carroll three sets to none. At the time, it was Beloit’s first volleyball title. Former longtime assistant coach, Ken Yasukawa states that Katelynn’s finest moment came as she served the final two points to clinch the title. By the time the offensive and defensive stalwart wrapped up her storied career, she ranked second in career sets played, second in kills, third in block assists and fourth in total blocks. On the dirt, she still holds the highest career fielding percentage with .983 and the most career putouts. She is second in putouts in a single season, she held that record until 2010. Off the court and dirt, she won both the Ruth C. Peterson Award and the Janssen Award. The Janssen award is awarded to the top athletes through their junior season. The Peterson award is awarded to the top female senior athlete for their athletic, academic and leadership achievements.
