By his own admission, Marc Cohen is not a leader, nor is he a follower. He chooses his own direction and devotes all of his energies to it, never expecting anyone to follow. His decision to attend Beloit College and play soccer followed that thinking. Most thought his goal was a Division I soccer program but, he wanted a small college atmosphere where he could contribute significantly to the soccer program. Under those circumstances he became a leader, and his contributions to the Buccaneer Soccer program are etched in the record books. A four-year letterwinner for the Bucs, he earned First Team All-Midwest Conference recognition in each of his four seasons. He was an All-State honoree in the last three seasons and in his senior season earned All-Midwest Region honors, one of only eight Buccaneers to earn that recognition in the history of the program at Beloit. He was also the team Most Valuable Player and Golden Boot Award recipient as a senior. His name remains prominent today in the record book, with the third-most goals scored in a season (12) and a career (34) and the third-most points in a season (31) and in a career (84). The quiet person who would become a leader graduated with a degree in Psychology and continues to succeed today as a teacher in The Woodlands, Texas.
