Hall of Honor
Amanda Urish has enjoyed a 20-year relationship with the Buccaneer Women’s Soccer program, and doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon. A four-time All-Midwest Conference pick during her playing career at Beloit, she has also served the program as an assistant coach, co-head coach and head coach, not to mention as the team’s official photographer. From her time at nearby Hononegah High School, where she played for three years on the school’s boys team before earning All-State honors as a senior for the first girls soccer team, Urish was dedicated to working hard and achieving success. Her four seasons with the Buccaneers culminated in her senior season as she led the squad into the MWC Championship match and finished her career as the program’s all-time leading scorer. She went from her playing days right into coaching and returned to Beloit as an assistant coach in 1995. She was named co-head coach in 1997 with Kristi Straub and the two earned MWC Co-Coach of the Year honors in 1999. Urish stepped away from the program after the 1999 season to raise her young family but returned as the assistant coach to former teammate Liz Bartley in 2006. Urish is a self-employed graphic designer and photographer who has collaborated on numerous Beloit College Athletic projects. She and her husband Jon, who works in the Admissions office at Beloit, have three children and reside in Beloit.
