Hall of Honor
Goal-oriented, focused, committed. Those three words describe Brenda Erdman Miller from a young age. “She never did, and has never done, anything where she didn’t give 100%,” said Bill Flanagan, the Executive Advisor to the President at Beloit and someone who has known Miller since she first stepped on campus. A three-sport standout who earned nine letters, Miller was a part of championship teams in Volleyball and Basketball and was a two-time Conference Champion in Track & Field. “She takes full advantage of every opportunity and is always successful,” continued Flanagan. In Volleyball, she was All-MWC in 1995 and a three-time Academic All-MWC honoree. In Basketball, she was twice the team’s Most Improved Player while also earning Academic All-Conference honors. And in Track & Field, she won the Shot and Discus title in back-to-back years and was an NCAA qualifier while being named team MVP twice. Her accomplishments helped her to be recognized with every major Athletic Department honor: the Donald “Red” Janssen Award, the Scholar Athlete of the Year and the Ruth Peterson Award and the Blanket Award.
