Hall of Honor
Carolyn Krueger made several trips with her church group during her high school years in Green Bay that reminded her how lucky she was to get opportunities to achieve what she wanted in life. She then came to Beloit College, joined the Buccaneer Women’s Track & Field team, and became a trailblazer. A four-year letterwinner for the squad, O’Brien was the first Beloit female athlete to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, placing 10th in the shot put during her senior season. But she did plenty before setting that program milestone. She was a three-time MWC champion in the shot put outdoors and won the event once at the indoor championships. She earned the team MVP award her senior season, and still holds the Beloit outdoor record for the shot put at 42’9 ¾”. Graduating with a degree in Sociology, O’Brien continues the helping spirit from her youth today as the Agency Support Services Manager at Family Services of Northeast, Wisconsin, in Green Bay.
