Size and strength on the football field sometimes carries with it an impression of aggression and attitude.  For Bryant Fillion, those traits were never a part of his All-American career at Beloit College.  Described by many – friends, professors and coaches – as a thoughtful, intellectual, and easy going person, he had a unique ability and desire to do the less-than-glamorous work of an offensive lineman, and his reward was earning All-American and First Team All-Conference honors three times for the Buccaneers.  A four-year letterwinner for the Bucs, Fillion was an Honorable Mention All-American in 1989 and moved up to the Third Team in 1990.  His senior season, in addition to serving as a co-captain, he went out on top, earning Second Team honors on the Champion All-American Team and First Team laurels for Don Hansen’s Football Gazette.  Prior to that season he was a Sporting News Pre-Season All-American choice.  Fillion anchored a line that helped produce two of Beloit’s top five all-time leading rushers.  During his four-year tenure on the line, the Buccaneers rushed for over 9,200 yards, went 29-9 and captured two Midwest Conference North Division Championships.
