Hall of Honor
When Jeremy Warren received the nickname “Comeback Kid” for his exploits as the Beloit College quarterback for three seasons, little did he know he would step in to the football coaching ranks and continue to use the moniker. A two-time All-Midwest Conference player for the Buccaneers, Warren finished his career in the top five in every passing category. He still sits in the top five in four of those categories and also holds the single-season record for passing yardage (1,980) and touchdowns (19), set in 1994. But records aside, it’s his clutch performances during that 1994 season that earned him his nickname, performances that are still talked about today. During that season, one in which the Buccaneers would earn the North Division Championship, he helped orchestrate four come-from-behind victories, all with deficits of at least 11 points. In addition to his two All-MWC honors, he was the team Captain and Offensive Player of the Year in 1994 and 1995 and the team Most Valuable Player in 1994. He was also a Beloit College Blanket recipient at the 1996 Athletic Awards Banquet. As was said earlier, his nickname continues to follow him as the Head Football Coach at Rock Valley College, where he has took over a struggling program in 2002 and has led the team to back-to-back playoff appearances the last two seasons, earning conference Coach of the Year honors in 2005. Warren resides in Rockford with his wife Tiffany and two children.
