Hall of Honor
A decade after leaving the Beloit College volleyball court, Katie Feldner still holds four records, including most assists in a season and a career. In 2006, she helped lead the team to a Midwest Conference championship, its first NCAA tournament berth, and was the MWC Player of the Year.
“Katie was the one of the finest setters that the college has ever had, by far,” says Ken Yasukawa, longtime Buccaneers assistant volleyball coach. A smart and dynamic player, Feldner was a four-year letter winner, an MWC Player of the Week honoree, a member of the MWC Crossover all-tournament team, as well as a three-time All-MWC First Team selection.
Feldner also found success on the softball diamond, where, in 2005, she led the team with a .471 slugging percentage and recorded a team-leading 18 RBI. During that season, she drove in six runs, an individual game record that still stands.
As a senior, Feldner was honored with the Athletic Department’s Joe Kobylka Spirit and Sportsmanship Award, as well as being selected as a Blanket Award recipient, the department’s highest athletic honor.
